I’ve always wanted to photograph a camp wedding, so I was definitely excited when Leanne contacted me to be her photographer for her Algonquin camp wedding! I love the idea of getting married someplace casual and simple but with beautiful scenery. I was even more excited that the camp she chose was actually inside Algonquin park. Travelling out to Algonquin is always such a nice break in the middle of wedding season. Whenever we have a wedding in the Muskoka area we always take an extra day or so to get in a hike and just recharge in nature.
Leanne and Justin got married at the end of September and were also lucky enough to get some beautiful fall colours. They started their day getting ready in separate camp cabins with their bridal party. Honestly the day got off to a bit of a rough start when maybe 5 minutes in to the day, I got a cut on my leg that just didn’t want to stop bleeding, plastered on several bandaids, and still have a scar months later – weddings are definitely not always glamorous!
Leanne and Justin got married in front of the lodge overlooking the lake just before sunset, and we had just enough time to get some photos around the lake and forest before heading inside for a relaxed buffet dinner, dancing and bonfire. I loved the relaxed vibe or the whole day, and the setting was a dream to photograph. Justin and Leanne were the sweetest couple and laughed their way through the day!
