This Kingston wedding was relaxed, simple and untraditional, and I loved everything about it!

I’ve always had a special affinity for intimate weddings and elopements. When my husband and I got married we chose to have a tiny wedding with only 12 of our closest family members present. I love how intimate weddings allow couples to create a unique celebration that focusses on what’s most important to them. It creates such a romantic fun day without any of the stress that a more traditional wedding often brings.

Jenika and Jack planned their wedding while living in her hometown of Vancouver and i’m always excited when I get an inquiry from a west coast bride. Being from Victoria BC myself, it’s fun to reminisce and we always seem to just click!

They chose to have their small wedding in Kingston Ontario since it’s where they first met and fell in love, and it’s also Jack’s hometown.

From the Couple:

“Thank you so much! We are over the moon with how these turned out. The colours and intimacy you captured is so beautiful.” -Jenika and Jack

Jenika and Jack started their day getting ready with their families at the coolest converted church hotel which was the perfect mix of modern and old world charm.

After a quick first look, we all headed over to their ceremony location at a local park where they got married surrounded by late summer flowers. I love the way Jenika and Jack personalized every detail of their wedding with sentimental meaning. They said their vows right outside Jack’s late grandmother’s house, where he grew up visiting often as a child. On top of that, Jack’s sister, who’s also one of Jenika’s best friends, officiated the ceremony.

Their families came prepared with surprise champagne for a celebratory toast after the ceremony!

This was my first time as a Kingston wedding photographer and I had so much fun finding the perfect spots for photos. Kingston is such a picturesque town and I love the European vibe of all the heritage buildings. First we headed down to the waterfront for some photos in a little garden by the lake, then off to the downtown center.

After we finished exploring downtown together, Jenika and Jack headed to their favourite local brewery for a casual celebration with their family, and ended the night with dinner at a local restaurant. I can’t wait to photograph more beautiful Kingston weddings in the future!
