Louise and Matt’s intimate wedding at the Royal Hotel in downtown Picton was one of my favourites of last year!
One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer is meeting couples who I really connect with and are such a joy to work with. Intimate weddings like this are always close to my heart since that’s exactly the way my husband and I chose to get married. We both got married with just our closest family and friends in attendance, with an outdoor ceremony and celebrated with an intimate dinner afterwards.
But best of all, Louise and Matt were the most amazing clients. Super easy-going, kind and easy to work with. I was so excited to learn that they’re both photographers themselves with a deep love of film photography. I loved capturing their day with as much film photography as possible knowing they would fully appreciate the film aesthetic! They even gifted me several rolls of film as a thank you at the end of their wedding day, which pretty much make them my dream clients!
From the happy couple:
“Oh wow, these are absolutely beautiful! Thank you so so much, you really captured how we felt on the day. We may or may not have teared up as we looked through these! We are thrilled with our photos and you captured the day perfectly!” -Louise and Matt

Their first look was one one of my all time favorites! I love when couples aren’t afraid to get emotional when they see each other for the first time on their wedding day.

Louise’s dad surprised the couple with this adorable vintage car to take them to their ceremony location. It was the perfect addition to their classic, nostalgic style.

Next we headed down to their ceremony location in front of the Macauley House, which is a beautiful heritage house just next to Macauley Mountain. It was the perfect spot for their intimate wedding ceremony and they got married surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees.

After taking some time to themselves to just soak in being married, we heading back up to Picton for cocktails and and private dinner at The Royal Hotel.

I would love to photograph your Royal Hotel wedding next! Please reach out if you think I might be a good fit!
